Hi Hi<3
Hope everyone is surving the cold! It was absolutely freezing this
past week! people describe the cold here and say that it chills to the
bone. aint that the truth! it hurts! hahah! but it finally got warmer
yesterday and today! it alsways seems to be nice and sunny for sunday
and pday! best days of the week!
This week (like every single one ive had on my mission) was full of
miracles !! My bestest friend yoko (82 year old lady with not super
big desires to learn about the gospel) came to a relief society
activity at the church!!!! we made american apple pies together! It
was just the thing for her! she had so much fun! and she got to meet a
lot of our sweet ward members! for now what we have felt that yoko
needs in just our love. weve been doing all that we can to show it and
now the ward is helping out too! so grateful !!! i know she is feeling
my love for her! i have really come to love this woman. she means a
lot to me and i just want to help her in every way but im not sure
how. its going to take a lot more time on my knees and at my desk. My
district leader told me something that i really liked on the phone the
other night for nightly calls. He said that God wont put someone in
our path that we cant handle. These people are special maybe just to
us. That even though we may have terrible japanese, it wont matter to
them. i have felt that with yoko. she is someone that i feel i need to
help. she loves and trusts me and really only meets with us because of
the love we show her. I am so grateful to have this opportunity to
meet amazing women like her!
I also got to go on exchanges with sister sickles. We have a really
good relationship so I was excited for exchanges! She is always very
happy with me! We talked about one of her investigators miyuki. She
really loves this girl and finally feels like she cares about someone
on her mission! i was os happy to hear it! we dendoed all day together
and had a great time! later that night we got to meet with miyuki! the
fun thing is that Miyuki was the first person i taught when i arrived
in tsukuba! but the other sisters are working with her so i rarely get
to see her. Miyuki is crazy!!! i love her! she is so outgoing and kind
of strange but just the greatest person in the world! she tries to
speak in english and we do our best in japanese but we all decided
that we are not very smart. hahah. so she said we can be in a dumb
club together. she will be the president of the club and plans to
become more famous than obama hahahah! i love this woman!!
Sister kelley and i had a lesson with another one of our best friends!
Atsuko started out as just a sweet lady wanting to help us learn
japanese. Well that level of trust turned into gaining a desire to
hear what we have to say! we taught lesson with her this last week! we
didnt get through the whole thing because she has such great comments!
as we explained the doctrine of christ she told us of a time when she
went to the Vatican in europe. Inside was a room where a tall
staircase lead to a statue of christ, people knelt down on each steep
and prayed for forgiveness and would climb a step closer and closer to
christ. She joined with them. She says that what you dont know from
the bottom is that once you get close enough to christ, on the ceiling
is a painting of our Heavenly Father. When we drawer nearer to christ,
we draw nearer to our Heavenly Father. She already has such great
religious background and has really opened up to us! i am so happy to
know her and have this opportunity to become her friend!
earlier this week we had to travel to another area for interviews with
president budge. Well because i have been in tsukuba the longest i was
in charge of leading the three other sisters. terrible idea... as were
riding our bikes to the train station i realize that were running
behind so i start going faster, next thing i know im flying through
the air without my bike. i skillfully dodged a pole though so that was
good. hopped back on the bike and we made it in time for our train!
about 20 minutes in, i realize we are on the wrong train... ugh. so we
hop off at the next stop. in the middle of nowhere of course. Sister
kelley and i sit down by the tracks to wait for our train. well the
train gaurd didnt like that.. he comes at us and yells at us for a
good 5 minutes that we are stupied and could have gotten our legs cut
off. nope not the proudest moment of my mission. so i call president
budge and tell him sorry for running late. he says your not late.
didnt you get the new schedule... ugh. well the story ends well and we
made it in time for our interviews. my interview with president budge
went well.... hahahah
then today sister kelley and i just had the weirdest experience ever..
a few days ago we tried to visit a 98 year old lady. she wasnt home so
we left a note with our number. this morning at 9:30 she calls us
during companionship study and tells us she wants us to come over
right then! so we jump on our bikes and go to her house. I was so
excited cause i adore this old lady! however she wasnt doing as good
as before. she layed on the floor under her heat blanket and just
moaned. the poor thing. we didnt know what to do. she fell asleep for
a little while so we planned to leave and come back later to check up
on her. she woke up right when we got up and said "im hungry, lets go
out to eat" hahah... uhhh... so she crawls around her house, gets a
coat, does her hair, and stands up and walks out the door! we were
shocked! she looks at our bikes and says no. so she takes my phone and
calls a taxi! hahahah! they come pick us up and drop us off at a
japanese resturant. my companion and i were still in shock. how did
all this happen? i have no idea but we couldnt stop laughing! just two
20 year old foreigners with a 98 year old lady who is practically
deaf. neither one of us can understand one another. hahah! but it was
the most entertaining day ive ever had! she kept telling us that we
needed to eat more food, and then get married! i love grandmas...
hahah !!
i love my mission!!!! i am having the time of my life serving with
these amazing people!!! each week is a new adveture and i love it! i
love feeling the spirit with people and helping them feel Gods love! i
love how many friends i have made here! i love my savior and i love
this work!
love all you too!!!!!
