Happy New Years!!! ハピヌイェア!!!1/5/14

Konnichiwa!!!
Hope everyone had a happy new years!!! 2014!! weird!
This was a weird week. Sadly not a very good one. But ill get to that in a little bit.
So this week our wonderful Tsukuba Ward members arranged for all 8 of the missionaries to have dinner at a different members house each day this week! so sweet! and sooooo much food!!!! last sunday night we went to the Yamaguchis. She is our relief society president. It was such a fun night! Their son is 18 and thinking about going on a mission. So we all went around and talked about why we are on missions and the difference that it has made in our lives. So neat to hear all of these wonderful missionaries different experiences and really how much serving has blessed their lives! Theres no way their son wont serve a mission now! They really are the best!
So with all the craziness of New Years President Budge didnt really want us outside trying to proselyte to drunk people. understandable. haha! So new years eve day was an all mission apartment deep cleaning day! woo! We spent literally the entire day cleaning every inch of our apartment! much much needed! Luckily that night we still had dinner appointments so we got to leave the apartment! We went to the Davis's house. We made gyoza (pot stickers)! Whenever i make gyoza at someones house they always call it a party because there is always soooooooo much gyoza. We all ate tons!!! wayyyyyy too much! After we shared a little message about thinking back on this year and moving forward. So much has changed for a lot of us this last year! SO true! Im in japan! haha! and so now what? well my goal is to work harder than ever! I have now just a little less than a year now i want to use this time to the fullest! Its not my time but the Lords time and i dont want to waste a single second! however, i quickly learned that getting sick wastes a lot of time! That night i rode home on my bike with the worst stomach pain of my entire life! Came home and just tried to sleep it off. Didnt happen. I dont need to go into details but i was awake every single hour that night throwing up that not so yummy anymore, gyoza. I felt bad for getting up and down so often through out the night and waking up the other sisters so i got a blanket and just layed there outside the bathroom door. It continued into the next day. The only time i left my apartment was to get a blessing from the elders. I was so bummed because this day we were suppossed to have two different dinner appointments and it was a mission wide book of mormon reading day! all of which i missed. it is not fun being sick.
That next night and day i still felt awful. Sister Budge did a good job of calling every hour to check up on me. My poor companion must have been bored out of her mind! Sister Budge was a good fill in mom making me drink fluids even though nothing stayed down. She almost made me go to the hospital. I cant imagine trying to communicate what was wrong with my in japanese. All i can talk about is jesus! hahaha!
The next day i was still having problems so we stayed in all day. So much for not wasting any time.. but really nothing i could do about it.
Finally by friday i was feeling good enough to get back to work! We went and visited our Indian friends Raj and Anu. They made us lunch! probably wasnt the best thing for me to eat right away but it was sooooo good! Indian food is the best! We showed them a video from lds.org about our church in india. They find it really cool and want to come to church! But they are soooooo into being hindi and I really dont think they want to be anything but that! We just love them and their cute little girl! We will be friends forever!
Saturday and sunday we had lots of finding time. With little success. January is a hard month in japan because everyone goes to their home towns for the holiday. This holiday for them in bigger than christmas! No one was really around and everyone is busy with school starting back up again. We did however really push for eikaiwa this last week. English class is where we get our best investigators so we spent a lot of time handing out english flyers. The last time the daviss were in charge of eikaiwa they got 80 students in one class! We are excited for this week and this year to get eikaiwa really going again!
So nothing really exciting to write about this week. Sorry! Being sick really took up a lot of time this week. But i am feeling much much better! This next week we have appoinments scheduled so we are so excited to work hard and make up for this last week! More to report on next week i promise!
Hope your all enjoying the New year! Love and miss you all! stay warm!!! love you!
