ベストフレンドこんいちは!!! June 15, 2014

Konnichiwa!!!!!

Heavens bless us all! That was one of the quickest weeks of my life! i
dont know where the time went! Its because i am in such a great
area!!! i have such a great companion!!! and i am serving in the
absolute greatest ward ever!!! everyone here is so ready to get down
to work! we like what were seeing!!

so i cant remember what i said last week about my new area.. emailing
time is the worst. nahh its the best i am just so scatter brained.
anyways, the best thing about this place? we have a couch in our
apartment!!!!!!!!!!! お久しぶり!!! i got used to attacking members couches
when ever we visited but now i have my own!!! some of the things i
took for granted before i lived in japan.

anyways so last week i had to stop in the middle of emailing because
we had a lesson with our new friend Yuko! she was the old sisters
investigators and we had an appointment for half english class and
half message about the gospel. She is hilarious! most japanese people
dont know what sarcasm is.. but boy does she!!! such a ham.. we get
along just fine :) the lesson was good and she said she wants to keep
studying the Book of Mormon with us! we have an appointment with her
again tonight! she is such an amazing woman! her husband died after
only four years after they were married. she was left alone with two
kids. She never remarried because she loved her husband so much and
didnt think it was right to marry anyone else. I am so excited to
share with her more about the gospel! the gospel being "good news!"
and do we have some good news for her! families are forever! that i
know to be oh so true!!!

tuesday night was the weirdest night of my mission. we went to visit
an investigator (we still dont know any of them...) at her work. the
sisters left us notes and said they would stop by her work and it was
ok. so we did. well this lady works at a resturant/bar. werent too
thrilled with the idea of going to a bar.. hahaha but we thought we
would introduce ourselves and go! took us forever to find. we walk in
and there is no one named nishiyama at this place. but japanese people
always want to help so we had a group of drunk people trying to read a
map to help us. poor things. hahahah! we left as quick as we could! we
walk back to our bikes a few blocks away and realize that both of our
seats are wet.. it didnt rain.. i look up and a man is staring at us.
he quick gets in his car and starts talking pictures of us. we
panicked and rode off super fast. so creepy! when we get home a
different man just stares at us, goes to the elevator and waits. when
we got to the elevator he closed the door and rode the elevator up. i
was so weirded out. our members and just told us about some creepy men
in the area so my companion and i were both on edge. But thats the end
of the story hahah! we are fine and nothing weird has happened since!
:)

eikaiwa here is amazing!!!! of course i have managed to become best
friends with the grandmas!!! i love them i love them i love them!!

thursday all the sisters in our zone came to our area to help us find
new investigators!! i stopped this one girl and she was the cutest
thing ever! maika<3 she really wants to learn english so we exchanged
numbers! we have been talking nonstop since! she has never been to a
church before so we have a church tour planned with her for friday!!!
she is so excited its adorable! best friends! cant wait! she is a
miracle!!!

friday i met a girl from peru! she just so happens to love religious
books and has never heard of the Book of Mormon! she accepted it
gladly! she is so prepared!!! cant wait to meet her again!

saturday we met a lady who took us to her home and said we would pick
plums together. they were not plums.. it was umeboshi. the nastiest
thing in the world. we told her that we would just take them home
hahahah! she was an angle though and really interested in
christianity!! she has ever read the Dead Sea scrolls! hahah! she said
we are welcome back anytime!!!!

so this area is just FULL of prepared people!!! i cant even handle
it!!!! we are busy everyday and meeting so many wonderful new
friends!! i love being a missionary so much!!! i am so happy! and
helping others find true happiness is the most rewarding experience of
my life!

sunday we had a way cool event after church! a famous japanese mormon
singing family came and put on a little concert!! they were wayyyy
good! they are called Bless4! we tried so hard to get our friends to
church but sadly no one came :( there is so much potential here but
everyone is busy on sundays :( japanese people work so dang much its
ridiculous! i thought i might want to live here someday but i think i
changed my mind hahah!
the concert was way fun though! its the four siblings that sing! and
they are fluent in english cause they lived in utah of course for a
few years! our ward just went crazy! it was so fun to be with the
members!!!

Lastly.... HAPPY FATHERS DAY DAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! boy do i
miss you!!!! we had a lesson last night at the bishops house with a
less active and his wife. this man is actually from america but is
married  to a japanese lady. we gave a lesson on prayer and i talked
about how grateful i was for Father's Day! the night before, i was
praying about what i might share at the lesson and i thought about you
dad! how i miss you so  much and would give anything to talk to you
more! i was overwhelmed with the feeling that no matter how far we
are, we can still feel love from those we care about. Our Heavenly
Father feels the exact same way! i know he would give anything to hear
the prayers of his children. Hes just waiting ready to listen. He
cares about us all so much and we can feel his love close around us
through prayer! Dad i love you so very much!!!! i miss you all the
time!!! you are my hero!!!

i love you all! thanks for the love and support! take care!!!
愛しています!
